RFK Jr.’s Running Mate Proposes ‘Unity Party’ with Former President Trump

Nicole Shanahan asserted that a significant portion of Americans, approximately 51%, oppose the current two-party political system in the United States.

Discussion on a Unity Ticket

In an interview on the Impact Theory podcast on August 20, Nicole Shanahan, who is running alongside independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for the 2024 election, suggested a potential alliance with former President Donald Trump to form a unity ticket.

Shanahan began the discussion by refuting any claims of her involvement with the Kamala Harris campaign regarding a cabinet position or an endorsement, labeling both reports as “fake news.”

She then praised Trump for acknowledging the campaign’s concerns about chronic illnesses and the influence of the pharmaceutical industry, hinting at the possibility of collaboration:

“I think it behooves us to sit and see if we can actually make some real change, and if that is a Unity party, I think that is something that we absolutely owe to the American public to explore.”

Shanahan also addressed the logistical issues surrounding ballot access, noting that the Kennedy campaign is now eligible in all 50 states. However, she expressed concerns about alleged suppression from the Democratic National Convention, which could lead the Kennedy campaign to function as a “spoiler” in the general election.

Regarding the option to withdraw from the presidential race and collaborate with Trump, Shanahan highlighted the implications of a potential Harris-Walz presidency. She indicated that the Kennedy campaign tends to draw more votes from Republican supporters rather than from Democrat voters.

Implications for the Crypto Sector

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s commitment to reversing anti-crypto policies has resonated positively within the cryptocurrency community. He has previously stated intentions to support the U.S. dollar with Bitcoin, a stance he took in 2023 before it became a focal point for Trump’s campaign.

Nonetheless, the independent candidate is seen as a longshot in the presidential race, and staying in the election could split the vote between two candidates who advocate for pro-crypto policies, as Shanahan suggested during the interview.
